A complete guide (with early deals)

⚠️ Disclaimer: Black Friday prices move fast and things sell out within minutes. All the info below is correct as of Mon 11 Nov 2025, but always double-check the latest price, delivery cost and returns policy before you buy anything. Use the price-checking tools listed and stick to legit brand or retailer sites.

When is Black Friday?

Black Friday this year lands on Friday 28 November, with Cyber Monday on Monday 1 December. Deals will run all through November, and some are already live.

Your best starting point is MoneySavingExpert’s live Black Friday hub – it’s constantly updated with real deals, early predictions and warnings about the ones that aren’t worth it. Bookmark it before you start browsing.

What should I do to make sure I get the best deals?

  • Make a short list first. Pick the 2–3 things you actually need, set a budget and don’t drift from it. Impulse buys wipe out any savings.
  • Price check EVERYTHING:Idealo (great overall comparison + alerts) PriceRunner (Klarna) and PriceSpy (alerts across lots of retailers) CamelCamelCamel for Amazon price history
  • Use student discounts where allowed. Check UNiDAYS and Student Beans after looking at the retailer’s price. Sometimes the student code beats the Black Friday offer.
  • Set deal alerts on the apps now.
  • Check delivery + returns. Think about term-time vs going home, and whether you can actually receive bulky parcels in halls. Parcel lockers near campus are usually a safer bet.

What should I avoid?

  • Fake shops and dodgy AI-generated sites. Watch for weird URLs (like “J0hnLewis”), no privacy page, pushy countdown timers, or requests for crypto/bank transfers. If it feels off, don’t risk it.
  • Misleading “WAS £999, NOW £399!” tags. Some RRPs are made up. Check the real price history on CamelCamelCamel or Keepa before trusting the “% off”.

Christmas shopping wellbeing

  • Set a spending cap (e.g. £100 total, £30 max per item).
  • Use the “sleep on it” rule for anything that isn’t essential.
  • Turn on 2-step verification for your email and payment accounts before you start shopping.
  • If something feels sketchy, back out and report it.

Deals available now (as of 11 Nov)

Always re-check prices/stock and run them through the trackers above.

  • LookFantastic: 25% off selected beauty & skincare.
  • Currys: Early tech deals (they’re claiming some all-time lows, but check trackers before buying anything pricey).
  • Argos: Up to 40% off selected homeware.

Black Friday is brilliant for planned buys and terrible for impulse ones. Stick to your list, use the trackers and shop safely. If you don’t actually need it, it’s not a deal.
