Heading home for the holidays?

Spread warmth before you go by donating to charity

As the University of Southampton community prepares for winter break, we have a wonderful opportunity to come together and make a real difference. This year, we're inviting residents at Archers Road, Erasmus Park, Highfield Hall, and Mayflower to support two local charities by donating toys, warm clothing, and other essentials.

Your generosity can help bring comfort, dignity, and joy to those who need it most during the festive season.

Donations

Two Saints

Two Saints provides vital support to people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability. They are especially in need of:

  • Female clothing in UK sizes 4, 6, 8, and 10
  • Socks, hats, gloves, and scarves
  • Winter coats and jumpers
  • Sleeping bags and sleeping mats
  • Toiletries (such as shower gel)

These items will help keep individuals warm and cared for during the colder winter months.

SCRATCH — Christmas Complete

SCRATCH works tirelessly to ensure families in need can celebrate Christmas with dignity and joy. Their Christmas Complete project provides gifts and festive essentials to children and parents who might otherwise go without.

They mainly request donations that are new. However, they also accept:

  • Excellent quality second-hand books (no names written inside)
  • Soft toys (clean and in exceptional condition)
  • Board games and puzzles (complete and in 'as new' condition)
  • Wrapping paper

SCRATCH also has an Amazon Wishlist where you can purchase items to be delivered directly in support of their mission.

Why it matters

The holidays can be a difficult time for many, but together we can spread warmth, kindness, and joy. Whether it's a winter coat or a cuddly toy, every contribution makes a difference.
