As much as the end of term one can feel relieving, it can also fee busy, expensive and a bit overwhelming. If you need any support over the winter break, you won't be on your own.
Here's where to find help whenever you need it.
Cost of living and financial support 💸
The run-up to the break can put extra pressure on your bank account. If you’re worried about money, head to the Cost of Living SharePoint site.
It brings together all the financial support available from the University and SUSU. You’ll also find links to health and wellbeing services in case money worries are affecting how you feel.
Health and wellbeing 😌
Semester one asks a lot from you. Deadlines, life admin, and settling into university can build up fast. Don't struggle in silence, reach out if you need to talk to someone.
The Student Hub remains available 24/7 (including bank holidays) throughout the winter break by:
- Email: studenthub@soton.ac.uk
- Phone: 023 8059 9599
- Online chat
The wellbeing team will also continue offering support during this time.
Important information: Building closures
The Student Hub front of house locations at Winchester School of Art, Avenue Campus, NOCS, and the Sir James Matthews Building will be closed from Saturday 13 December 2025 to Sunday 25 January 2026.
If you would prefer to talk to someone in person, you can visit the Student Hub team at Highfield Campus, which will only be closed on 25 and 26 December, but the team will still be contactable online and by phone.
