The festive season shone a little brighter this year in Residences as Wessex Lane wrapped up a successful Christmas for a Cause event.
Students and staff came together in the true spirit of giving, donating an incredible 288 toys and 859 items of food to support Two Saints charity, helping local families and individuals in need during the winter months.
The donation drive called for non-perishable food items for local food banks and new or gently-used toys for the Southampton City Council Christmas Toy Appeal. The response was extraordinary, with people donating in the days leading up to and following the event, demonstrating the commitment of our University community.
Held on Wednesday 3 December in the Boiler House Common Room, the event blended festive fun with meaningful community impact.
One of the highlights of the day was a Christmas-themed petting zoo, which brought smiles to everyone who stopped by. The event provided a much-needed break from end-of-term pressures with a cheerful atmosphere.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Christmas for a Cause event!
