Guidance to using your key fob in halls

How does my fob work

How your fob works

Building, flat and common room doors

To open your building or flat door hold the fob against the panel, normally located to the side of the door, until you hear a beep and a green light displays.

Bedroom doors

You can open your bedroom door by holding your fob onto the fob reader on the door handle (please note there can be a variation in door handles and how they look). Hold the fob to the door handle reader until it beeps and the light goes green.

Ensure you leave your door locked on leaving your bedroom. Some doors are configured to automatically lock when closing, for those which don't auto lock you can lock the door by holding your fob to the door handles fob reader. It will then beep after a few seconds and lock the door. Always test that your door is locked before leaving.

When inside the room, you can use the ‘do not disturb’ knob on your handle to stop anyone from accessing.

Hold fob reader to the door handle. Once it beeps and the green light shows the door can be opened.

What do I do if my fob stops working?

Our fobs are pretty robust and should work throughout your stay with us but if you find your fob stops working please go to your site reception. Our reception team will be happy to check the configuration of the fob or provide you with a replacement fob if required.

What if the lock/handle stops working?

If the lock/handle to your main flat door, or your bedroom door are not working please report this – if you believe there is a security risk, please advise at reception. If it is more of a maintenance issue than a security issue, please raise the job on Planon for repair.
