The Catered Package Scheme is one of the easiest ways to eat well, allowing you to focus more on your studies without worrying about cooking or food shopping. Here are five reasons why you should consider the package and how you can get this set up for when you move into halls.
1. All-you-can-spend credit (£60 a week)!
Each week, you get £60 credit loaded onto your student card. Use it at any Campus Kitchen outlets for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks or hot drinks. Alcohol excluded, but that still means plenty of choice across campus.
2. Save 20% on all hot meals
Fancy curry, pasta, stir-fry or soup? Your weekly meals come with a 20% discount on hot dishes, making this option even better value. No vouchers or juggling tokens - just tap and enjoy.
3. A meal plan that fits your life
We take all dietary requirements into consideration and try to tailor your meals to fit your needs. Veggie, vegan, gluten-free and staff are happy to discuss allergies or preferences. Prefer lunch on campus? You can use your credit across all outlets with no problems, including cafés, canteens, or pop-ups.
4. Better food, less faff
This scheme cuts out the stress of meal planning, shopping lists and washing up. You’ll get fresh, wholesome meals prepared daily. Perfect fuel for long study sessions or weekend sport.
5. Invite friends and keep it flexible
Studying friends not on the package can still join you, just pay for their meal by card. It’s a great way to hang out without the cooking hassle. Also if you can’t make a meal time, grab a takeaway breakfast box (just give 48 hours’ notice).
How to get started
- Pick a designated catered room during your accommodation application.
- Once your room’s confirmed, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the scheme.
- Load up your card and, come September, start tapping to grab meals!
