Moving to University can be exciting, but it can also be a daunting experience — particularly when it comes to finding somewhere to live and adapting to life away from home.
The Res Life Cycle team is on hand to make the transition from home to University life as smooth as possible.
We are dedicated to ensuring that you have an amazing home from home experience throughout your stay in halls of residence.
Available out of hours, we are on hand to offer support and information at every stage in your student journey — from pre-application, all the way through to planning for future years.
And we aren't just here to provide guidance, we work hard behind the scenes throughout the year to deliver campaigns and initiatives to help you develop essential life skills, creating opportunities for you to meet new people within the student resident community.
Whether it's the Res Life Fair, an information drop-in session, a sustainability challenge during Green Week, or one of our End of Year Celebrations, there's always something going on across halls of residence for you to get involved in.
Our main aim is to help you live harmoniously with your flatmates while living in halls, and signposting you to relevant services for any issues that you may experience.
We educate for prevention, arming you with life skills such as housing information, sustainable practices, how to be a good neighbour and flatmate, and how to save on your utility bills, preparing you for future years.
If you need help or support, contact the Student Hub on 02380 599599, studenthub@soton.ac.uk, or via the online chat.
