Get involved in two weeks of sustainability events in halls

Get ready to go green! From 12–25 October, students in halls are invited to take part in Mission: Green-possible — a fortnight-long sustainability initiative designed to inspire eco-friendly living and celebrate our connection to the environment.

Whether you're a nature lover, a sustainability enthusiast, or just curious to try something new, there’s something for everyone. Join us for a series of fun, hands-on events and challenges that make sustainable living both achievable and enjoyable.

🌱 What’s on?

Here’s what’s happening across halls during Mission: Green Possible:

• 📸 Running from 12-25 October, submit up to two photos in the Green Living Photo Challenge to showcase your sustainable lifestyle for the chance to win one of two airfryers or a snoodie. Whether it's a clever way you save energy, a plant-based meal, or your eco-friendly commute, we want to know how your supporting a sustainable future. Add a short description (1-2 sentences) explaining how your photo promotes green living to support your entry. 👉Learn more and submit your entry
• 🦔 Help protect local wildlife by building safe shelters for hedgehogs. Hosted in partnership with our external maintenance team, Mountjoy, you'll have the opportunity to learn about hedgehog habitats and how you can support biodiversity on campus.
• 🔍 Take part in our BioBlitz, a fast-paced nature survey to identify as many species as possible in your local area. Run by the Wildlife Society at Glen Eyre on 19 October, it’s a great way to explore the green spaces around your hall. Keep an eye out on Halls Life and the SUSU website for more information.
• 🧤 Join us on a litter pick of the neighbourhoods around halls. It’s a simple way to make a visible impact and show pride in your surroundings.
• 🌿 Pot your own plant at a series of events across our halls sites. Bring a bit of nature indoors in this relaxing activity — it's a great way to personalise your space.
