Your Library
Study spaces
There are a range of study spaces and zones to help you study in the way you prefer. Locations are available across the University of Southampton's Library sites, Building 100, and the Sir James Matthews building.
Library activity
Check what activities are happening at the Library's locations across the University by using the MySouthampton app.
Library Research Skills
You can book an appointment for support in a range of areas, including Library Research Skills — providing help with finding and evaluating information, citing and reference, and more!
Library Chat
You can ask the team a question about the Library and its services on the Library Chat. The chat is staffed by the Library's customer services team and is open Monday to Friday 09:00-19:00.
Generative AI and your studies
The Library's webpage features videos that will help you understand the benefits and limitations of using Generative AI (GenAI) tools — such as Copilot — to assist with your studies.
IT support
In-person IT support is available at the Hartley Library and the Sir James Matthews building Tech Hubs, as well as other locations. Stop by to get free support for both your University and personal devices.
Academic skills
The team offers drop-ins and writing cafès — check out the Library website to find out more and discover a wealth of online guidance.
