Maintenance: When to submit on Planon

Posted 4 weeks ago

Why it's important to report issues promptly

Our maintenance team works hard throughout the year to maintain the safety, comfort, and functionality of our halls sites. From heating and lighting to plumbing and external areas, we aim to ensure that your living environment is well-maintained and fit for purpose.

However, despite our proactive efforts, maintenance issues may occasionally arise during your stay. These might include things like a dripping tap, faulty radiator, broken light fitting, or issues with your room furniture. While some problems may seem minor, they can quickly escalate if left unresolved.

Why it's important to report issues promptly

We understand that discovering a maintenance issue isn't always convenient — especially during busy periods like exams or when you're leaving the site for University breaks. But reporting problems as soon as you notice them helps us respond more efficiently and prevents further disruptions to your day-to-day life.

By submitting a request on Planon, our dedicated maintenance platform, you're ensuring that the right team is notified and can take action to resolve the issue.

The sooner you report it, the sooner we can fix it!

What should be reported?

You should submit a maintenance request for any issue that affects:

  • Your room or flat, e.g. heating not working, broken furniture, electrical faults.
  • Shared facilities, e.g. kitchen appliances, communal lighting, blocked drains.
  • Safety concerns, e.g. fire door not closing properly, exposed wiring.

If you're unsure whether something needs reporting, it's always better to act on the side of caution and submit a request.
