Our halls guest policy

Inviting guests over to stay?

It's always great to have a friend or family member come and visit you in halls. To make your guest can have a enjoyable stay here's everything you need to know.

Guests are allowed in your halls, but please stick to the guidelines otherwise you risk them being asked to leave.

  • Your guests must be ages 18 years or older
  • If you wish to have a guest stay for more than 3 consecutive nights, you must receive written consent from the Residences team, in advance of your guest staying. Consent is not guaranteed.
  • The maximum time a guest may stay is 7 consecutive nights in any given 4-week period
  • When asking for permission, you must provide the name and date of birth of your guest
  • Frequent short-term visitors, whether staying overnight or not, are discouraged, due to the impact on other flatmates. We reserve the right to ask frequent visitors to leave halls immediately
  • You are responsible for your guest and for any misconduct or damage caused by them, and you will be liable for any fines/costs resulting from your guest's behaviour
  • If you are living in a designated single gender flat, only guests of the same gender are permitted to stay after 10pm. Guests of a different gender are only permitted to visit single gender flats with express permission of each of the other residents of the flat

Information on our guest policy can be found in our hall regulations

We want your halls to feel like home, but it’s important to be considerate of our guest policy, which has been put together with all residents in mind so everyone can have a good time.
