Hello everyone! My name is Lottie, and I am your Vice President of Welfare and Community. I want to ensure all students know that your Sabbatical Officers are here for you, and that you’re up to date with all the events and activities happening just for you at SUSU.
First of all, good luck with your exams! Make sure that you’re looking after yourself over this period and if you need any support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Student Hub or The Advice Centre at SUSU.
Over the next two weeks, we’re celebrating You Are More Than! This campaign is filled with wellbeing activities, free food and drink, free access to societies promoting mindfulness and sport activities, and much more! Come and find me in Hartley Library on Thursdays over the exam period for free cereal bars and fruit.
I’d like to make a quick push for the Gender Expression Fund. The Gender Expression Fund is a pot of £750 that supports trans, non-binary or otherwise gender-diverse students in purchasing items that support them with their gender expression. This is a non-repayable grant of £50 per academic year. The trial period for the Fund ends at the end of Semester 1, so please do make an application if you wish to take advantage of the Fund.
There’s also plenty of activities going on this month through clubs and societies. It’s never too late to get involved.
We have our first friendship-making event called Break the Ice happening on the last Friday of every month – first being the 31/01/25. I hope to see you there!
Keep an eye out for the Leadership Election nominations opening on the 27/01/25. If you’re not feeling any of the roles yourself, don’t forget, you can nominate a friend! More information is coming soon!

See you next month!
